WithInAsThru The Personal Touch
Whoa! It's been an expansive year so far. If you're like me, it feels as if every day passes even faster than the one before. Have you also noticed that sometimes it feels that the very technology meant to help us become more efficient often has us working more hours than ever before? Leaving us with less time for moment's of authentic sharing? And there is so much to share with you, as I've been traveling a lot, launching my next venture in an expansive and inclusive way, while working tirelessly to get WithInAsThru yoU! The HandBook completed for its release in the Fall… To this end, the key thought I had for today's letter is the importance of taking a few minutes every once in awhile for the personal touch. For example, sending out a hand-written card to those you love and who love you. Lately, between catching up on writing and other work, I've been carrying around blank cards and hand writing personal messages to friends and colleagues. It's a great feeling to receive a personal card, isn't it? And I've discovered that it's also a great feeling to be one who gives the gift of the personal touch, as well. Perhaps that's the essence of this Letter, “WithInAsThru the Personal Touch.” Granted, this isn't an astounding new thought, but it is an important one. We all know the significance of keeping the personal touch alive in all our activities. Recently, a friend of mine stated that one of the keys to his success and position (CEO of a hundred million dollar corporation) is the many letters he personally hand writes to his key relationships. From mentors and supporters to venders and clients, he makes the personal touch a part of his business and professional life. While email, instant messaging, text messaging and even phone calls can be effective in keeping your projects and business progressing, nothing seems to land more important than when simple words of gratitude meaningfully find their way from your heart to another's. In these quiet moments when we receive or give gifts with the personal touch, something indelibly shifts withinasthru us, doesn't it? Of course, this would be an exercise in futility if it wasn't truly a part of your authentic voice. Doing it simply for the sake of “what's in it for you“ misses the point entirely. So, let me ask you… Who's the one person you know that you most would like to write to? Close this window now, turn off your computer, pull out a card or even a blank piece of paper and write to that person now. Let them know how much you appreciate them in your life and what they mean to you. Share with me your stories, if you would, about how this one simple letter expanded you and your capacity to give withinasthru the personal touch. Then, keep on giving it! Enjoy the expansion that comes with writing down and sharing your real feelings withinasthru the personal touch. In Transparent Sharing, sk
