Evolutionary Catharsis

Printer-Friendly Format

“…in the moment that it appears that it is all
falling apart, it is really falling back together at
the next highest level… not just more, or better,
or different… a transformation from the inside
out that wasn't even possible before this
moment…”

This is a quote from Neale Donald Walsch's “Conversation With God,“ I refer to often to remind, as I'm remembering, that everything that is occurring right now IS as IT IS. It is up to me to script a meaning that serves me and the greater good, no matter the surface appearance of situations, circumstances, events or the players engaged in each act of my life.

The following Letter has been directly inspired withinasthru a handbook written by Bill Harris entitled, “The Management of Evolutionary Change.rdquo; Bill Harris is the Founder of Centerpointe.

In my last Letter to you, I was reminding you to see all the craziness that may occur around you once you declare to the world who you are that challenges you to be it, as an opportunity, not an obstacle.

This process of becoming who you really are, living a life filled with passion and purpose can sometimes get quite challenging emotionally, mentally, physically and psychically. So, instead of falling into any traps of blaming those or complaining about those who may not necessarily share your enthusiasm, choose to be the powerful spirit you are, remembering to simply smile, breath and be grateful for what IS your life. This will allow you to pause before running your old pattern of projecting any of the emotional turmoil withinasthru you on to those who are closest to you.

Possibly the greatest skill you will acquire withinasthru this process is the ability to identify, take responsibility for, and move through the upheaval which from time to time accompanies your intent to grow and become.

Withinasthru this Letter, this upheaval will be referred to as “Evolutionary Catharsis.” Please get that without evolutionary catharsis there is no growth, no expansion of awareness, no evolution. Catharsis is, in fact, the proof that evolution is happening, that the process is working.

Positive core-level change at the accelerated pace you've brought about withinasthru your immersion into a true willingness to live your purpose true can be cathartic. It has been, and will continue to be, a fascinating journey where each breakthrough is more amazing and fulfilling than the last. Your catharsis need not be painful, however, because you are the creator of your every experience. Simply remember that even the pain is occurring withinasthru you, okay?

Catharsis, as defined in a Webster dictionary, is “a purifying release of the emotions or of tension by bringing repressed material to consciousness.” That is a natural result of the intensified journey you've created for yourself withinasthru this process. And in your moments of clarity, when you're able to see the events and circumstances of your life as a mere reflection, you'll begin to really “get” why and for what purpose the current events are occurring withinasthru you.

Catharsis involves the upheaval, intensification and release of familiar or habitual mental, emotional and physical patterns operating from the subconscious and unconscious data banks of our mind. The end result of cathartic release is a whole new way of seeing and experiencing “what is;” a reorganization of the brain at a new and more evolved level, one that allows a greater perception and experience of the infinite number of connections making up your true nature as the one energy, information and intelligence of which you are a part.

The primary symptoms of the experience of catharsis is blaming and complaining someone or something outside of your self for your uncomfortable situation and circumstance. We'll discuss this in greater depth in a future Letter. For now, suffice it to say, before you blame, breathe.

Why does the very growth you seek sometimes occur withinasthru craziness or even drama? Why are you continually reorganizing yourself at higher and more functional levels? And what does this have to do with evolutionary growth and catharsis?

We'll explore at least one viable reason in the next WithInAsThru yoU! Letter. For now, please don't allow your mind to take over. Be aware of when you might be blaming another for how you're feeling. And most importantly, be ever clear that how you feel is how you feel. Trust the process.

WithInAsThru Awareness & Sincere Stewardship,
