The Power of a Neutral Mind
In my life, I've come to observe the power a neutral mind allows me in moments. There's a great Taoist quote, “Seek not the truth, merely withhold opinion” that guides me whenever I find myself in reaction.
In our Western culture, we just don't value neutrality of mind. We live in this world where
everything has to be right or wrong, good or bad, the axis of evil or the axis of good and all the other myths in
between. It's a myth only possible in a culture story of separation. Just get back into what it is you're here for, no matter the details. Ultimately, we're asked - we're called,
if you will - to be the observer in moments, asked to observe the observable without
judgment. And sometimes this is very difficult to do. However, the more you practice simply observing What IS, without forming an opinion as to whether
or not 'What IS' is good or bad, you'll begin to notice how you become much more present to the here
and now. All our power is in the here and now. In contrast, all of our pain and suffering comes from our resistance to What IS. Yet 'what is' IS 'WHAT IS.' What we make the IS mean, however, is another story. Practice simply observing the observable without opinion. Stay in your power. For even our desire to BE,
DO or HAVE can only be achieved while in our power. Practice the power of a neutral mind. From this state of mind, you're sure to enjoy life so much more.
And isn't that the point? In Joy, sk
